Observations on Optimal Programming of Closed Loop Cardiac Pacemakers in Patients with Refractory Neurocardiogenic Syncope
There have been few reports on the use of closed loop cardiac pacing in patients suffering from refractory neurocardiogenic syncope. The optimal pacing algorithm using closed loop cardiac pacing has not been well studied. We herein present our single center experience on the specific pacing algorithm, which has been successful in almost 84% of patients.
متن کاملCardiac MRI is safe in patients with pacemakers and defibrillators
Background MRI has generally been contraindicated in patients (pts) with pacemakers (PM) or defibrillators (ICD) due to concern of a variety of potential complications. Several recent series have suggested potential safety of MRI in pts with cardiac devices, but most excluded cardiac or thoracic imaging. Additionally there is very limited data on safety of CMR in pts with devices, especially in...
متن کاملCardiac Monitoring in Patients with Syncope: Making that Elusive Diagnosis
Elucidating the cause of syncope is often a diagnostic challenge. At present, there is a myriad of ambulatory cardiac monitoring modalities available for recording cardiac rhythm during spontaneous symptoms. We provide a comprehensive review of these devices and discuss strategies on how to reach the elusive diagnosis based on current evidencebased recommendations.
متن کاملCOMPLICATIONS OF TREATMENT Radiotherapy to patients with artificial cardiac pacemakers
Background: The in vitro studies show that the modern cardiac pacemakers utilising the complementary metal-oxide semi-conductor (CMOS) circuitry can be adversely affected by therapeutic radiation. However, the published clinical data are sparse regarding the safety of radiotherapy delivery to patients with artificial pacemakers. Despite the potential risk of life threatening complications, ther...
